Nestled in the Karkloof foothills close to Albert Falls Dam, Ukuthula Lodge is a private game farm, 20 km outside of Pietermaritzburg It offers thatched chalets and an outdoor pool The elegantly furnished chalets are decorated in neutral tones and open up onto a wooden viewing deck Each has a kitchenette and a bathroom with shower The lodge offers picnic baskets to purchase Guests can make use of the gym facilities and sauna Other activities offered include hiking, game drives, canoeing on the dam, bird watching and fishing Giraffes, antelopes and zebras and a variety of smaller game species can be spotted The lodge is 30 km from Pietermaritzburg Airport and offers a free airport transfer by prior arrangement
